In Cave 6, a special form of Armsy awaits you, the blue Armsy. Usually there are two or three of them at most. In theory, you can encounter up to four Armsies at once. It has six arms in total and only takes two to three hits to kill an unarmored player. In The Forest you can encounter the following types of mutants: The Armsy in The ForestĪn Armsy appears to have two to three bodies and is significantly larger than you or cannibals. These are called mutants by players to differentiate them from the cannibals above. In addition to them, there are the so-called “Scary Mutants”, which are a lot more difficult to defeat. The mutants listed so far are mainly referred to as cannibals because they look like humans. You can easily recognize them by their masks, which they make out of corpse faces. Masked mutants are the strongest on the island. Painted mutants are stronger than normal and pale mutants. The crosses are easy to see on male mutants, unlike female mutants and bosses. These mutants can be identified by the dozens of crosses on their bodies, usually painted in white paint. The pale mutants are stronger than normal mutants and they have no women, leaders or fire throwers in their ranks. These pale, bluish looking mutants are most commonly found in caves, but will also spawn on the surface a few days after initial contact. Males are often elaborately adorned with bone jewelry, war paint, and belts made from found materials, while females are left undecorated with what may be a simple loincloth. Regular Mutants in The ForestĪlong with the starving mutants, the regular mutants are the island’s largest breed of mutants. The appearance and behavior of the starving mutants is usually the same as that of the skinny mutants, since starving mutants are always of the skinny mutant type. You can find the following mutant genera in The Forest: Starving Mutants in The Forest The classification of the mutant genera is based on their appearance, but also on their difficulty, listed in order of increasing difficulty. You can set yourself on fire with a melee attack.
Although this often hits other mutants, be careful when attacking a fire-throwing mutant. They hide behind other mutants and toss flaming tennis balls into battle. Fire Throwing Mutants in The Forestįire-throwing mutants are the only ranged fighters. But they return after a short time to avenge their leader. If you defeat the leader, his subordinates will flee. If necessary, however, they will join the fight or call for reinforcements. Leaders themselves stay out of combat and just watch. They always have a group of mutants of normal and painted species in tow. You will usually never meet a leader alone. Heavy and powerful weapons are most effective against male mutants. Normal and painted male mutants often use weapons. Masked and pale species even mostly fight with their hands only. Depending on the genus, their armament differs. If they witness the death of a female mutant, it increases their aggressiveness. They make up for their low movement speed with increased resilience and strength. No matter what species you encounter a male mutant in, his behavior pattern will always be nearly the same. Female mutants often interrupt a fight to mourn when they learn that another mutant has been killed nearby. They also have long, claw-like fingernails that they can use to deal damage. Female Mutants in The ForestĪlthough the female mutants do not carry weapons, they are more aggressive than their male relatives. They sometimes fight among themselves and eat the corpses of their comrades, which makes them vulnerable to attacks. They can be male or female and represent the fastest mutants in each tribe. The weakest and first mutants you will encounter on the island. You can find the following mutant types in The Forest: The individual types can be found in almost all genera. The classification of the mutant types is based on their behavior, their movement, and their abilities. Basically, in The Forest, you have to differentiate between different mutant types and mutant genera. We also show you what their strengths and weaknesses look like. In our guide, we have summarized all the mutants that exist in The Forest for you. If you’re not careful and don’t prepare yourself appropriately for the different enemy types, your chances of surviving decrease with every passing second. The island in The Forest is crisscrossed by a vast network of caves and offers plenty of habitat for mutants and cannibals, both above and below ground. However, the absence of humans does not mean that there are no dangers lurking – on the contrary: In The Forest, you have to face many enemy mutants. In the survival classic The Forest you have to survive after a plane crash on a deserted island.
